Our Mission Statement
The Acting Effect is a nonprofit corporation organized and dedicated to offering high quality performing arts instruction and committed to providing all students with different abilities opportunities to improve their self-image and confidence through artistic expression. The Acting Effect is operating exclusively for charitable purposes specifically to provide recreational workshops, performing arts workshops, musical theater activities and camps for youth and teens with developmental differences.

We empower individuals with the ability to perform, sing, dance, and act by incorporating movement and music therapy. It is an inspiring step forward to include young people with different abilities in the performing arts.
The Acting Effect has been offering some of the most exclusive artistic performances in the Lake Forest area since 2000. Founding Director - Natalie Costa
Natalie Costa is the founding director of The Acting Effect and the CEO of The Performer's Academy in Lake Forest, CA. For 27 years, Natalie has been an advocate for children with different abilities. Her acting academy has been an inclusive environment for children and adults of all ages.
Program Director - Barbara Wyner
Barbara Wyner has an extensive background in education and theater. She has been working with students with different abilities for the past 10 years. Her experience includes musical theater directing, Inclusion Facilitator in public education, job and life coach for individuals with different abilities. Barbara worked for the State of Florida teaching dance therapy.
Productions
Our first production will be a musical performance of Annie. Students will perform songs from the famous Broadway show along with scenes and dances. Performers will be accompanied by volunteer students from The Performer's Academy.
